I don't know if I'd just never noticed them before or what, but in the last few days I've seen several of these vehicles about. What's the deal here? For the real actual police dealing with all manner of criminals we have one force. For the money-grabbing useless idiots who can do nothing about SA's horrific road accident and fatality counts, we must have local AND national enforcement?

We still have municipal traffic police too... Like the rentacop sherrifs stateside...

Buffalo City Law Enforcement nogal. They handle everything from parking tickets to dispursing protesters to policing.

I saw what I saw. I forget to mention how that doesn't even make sense as a name. Metro as in metropolitan is not national damnit! And today I saw something else, "Gauteng Metro Police". Doesn't make much more sense. Starting to wonder if maybe anyone with an appropriately marked car and an official sounding name can do this. Dept of justice website seems to have lots of stuff about laws but not who enforces them. Do traffic depts fall under justice? Where can one find a list of genuine law enforcement divisions of SA?

Maybe you saw these guys, they also drive Jetta 5s.

I think you have an issue where you read the word traffic as metro, maybe its some form of dyslexia?

Other provinces also have provincial traffic police as per Garys one pic with Limpopo Traffic Police. We have pictures of those, next time try to take a picture so as to give validity to your claims.

The black and white vehicles.

I have also seen the black and white vehicles that say National Traffic Police.
Last time I saw them was at the top of the R59 highway in Alberton.
They like to park there and pull taxis and trucks off.
I'll try and get a photo next time (without getting arrested).
