The system is down — Nationwide Home Affairs outage

Home Affairs' systems across South Africa are offline, the government department said on Friday.

According to its notice, the outage is due to a cable break connecting the department to the State Information Technology Agency.

No this is a special 10base2 cable from Germany so the whole length of cable will have to be removed ( after a tender process, got to make millions out of this little calamity after all ) and sent to Germany for repairs.
