Navasolar Trolley Inverters

I was about to pull the trigger on one of these trolleys but I don't want to deal with this permanent fan running issue 😬
I must be honest, the fans - when just running without a load or charging the battery - are not unpleasantly loud, so would not be a deal breaker for me, but that is just my two cents worth.

The unit is a real little powerhouse - it ran both my fridges, my deep freeze, TV, DSTv, router, lights in the whole house and the CCTV cameras for over 5 hours and only dropped to 50% battery - so I am willing to overlook the fans running, with the hope that we will get a fix for the fans.

If you get the version before this one, it doesn't do that. Was quite happy with it, I regret selling it.

I bought the TI-3024 from Takealot, and sent it back after 4 days. I live in a small flat and work from home, so the fan noise was a deal breaker for me. It just doesnt make sense that in bypass mode, with 0% load, the fans run much louder that on battery with a 20% load. The sound reminds me of rack mounted server fans (not quite as loud), where the speed seems to fluctuate slightly, so the hum changes pitch.

Also tried connecting the USB at the back of the unit to my laptop to see if I could do anything with the WatchPower software. Device manager picks it up as a serial connection, but WatchPower couldn't detect the device.

Overall, I think this is a well built and decent performing unit, but if you cannot store it somewhere where the noise wont drive you insane, then I would stay away.

Was hoping to swap this out for the older model, but I see the price went from R8199 to R12399. And now I cant find it on the site at all.

Yeah pretty sad that people are charged premium for these devices, then there is absolutely no support from the sellers.

This is a problem for most people with this model.

Let's see if @Tech Guy SA has any feedback, or any idea who the qualified support staff if that can assist.
Hey hey

sorry been extremely busy my end.

For the Fans question people had yes its not possible for this or any of them to change the Rate at which the fans go on this is the same with other brands as we know it.

Also depends on
A:) tempurature
B:) the load and recharging of the unit the higher the load the louder that fan will get

Technician i spoke to did suggest maybe move the inverter to another room where its not so loud.

Hey there guys,

I recently purchased one of the new models navasolar NV-TI-1512 (I previously owned the older 960wh version)

My question is, is it normal for the fan to run 100% of the time? On the older version, it would only run when in battery mode/charging.

What is connected to it?

It's not a issue even Ecoflow 90% of the time on on my end (using a PC running at 200W usage etc and i can hear the fan louder than the computer (still soft according to my db reader on my watch its 48-53db I type louder than that).

However yes the fans are always on its to keep the components cool.

Unless you move it to another room and run a lead.
I received my TI-3052 3kW/5.12kWh trolley inverter on Friday and the fans have been running constantly - never switching off. So it seems to be a thing with the new units. Previous units allowed for menu access to change settings but this new one does not allow you to access the menu at all.

I understand the fans kicking in when the unit is charging the battery and/or supplying a load - but continuous running of the fans seems unnecessary in my opinion - surely that will shorten the lifespan of the fans?

i noticed a RCT i re did its batteries does the same its a 2kva though
As for the configuration of fans on older models im not sure cause that doesnt sound like that was supposed to happen.

you wouldnt want the fans to be quiet while your board is busy cooking.

LOL. Not much effort in that response from the technician.

My 3kw/2.5kwh operates the way it should. Fan off when not loadshedding, fan on when loadshedding, fan intermittent while charging.

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Temperature is basically room temperature, and even with nothing connected to it, the fan is always running loudly.

It reminds me of mine when the battery type was AGM and not LI. It seems like these units that have the fans running are different/newer models?

Do you perhaps know how qualified support staff (stuff? Haha) can be contacted? It could also be useful for me, should mine give problems in the future.

Lot more to it than that i just simplified it.

not all inverters are like that.

some are on always some are not is your 3kva or is 3kilowatts? whats your output? cause Kw is the battery size in terms of wattage hours etc whats the load when on grid?

to who ever has fan constantly on what is your load anyway and then if you got a db reader (phone app maybe) what it reading before vs after the inverter is on.

Oh yes forgot to say this part
"The menu is locked on the TI series" <-- forgot to ask him why and was it before etc.

So id say this for not my clients cause if its my clients i prefer the reports go through me so i know (ill find out anyway). And i prefer control over repairs, (So i know if item A is giving faults all the time to remove it off the store etc or advise clients yes this A item is common for it to do x y z)

but lets say takealot etc and those guys you can contact the distributor directly they should be able to assist.

The company is called Corex They have branches in Cape Town / Johannesburg and Cape Town.
I deal with the guys in Cape Town as our account is that side. But you'd ask for Technical
I advise to call not email.

They may want the serial number invoices etc they may ask you to contact the seller to organize bookings (for the invoices etc to do with dates).

I say this as i know its a quicker method when something is faulty to go straight to the supplier except if its Bluetti and Daraner that goes straight to them same with Ecoflow. Since most stores book in a a few days later gets sent in where we just ship it straight back to the source last thing i want is a ton of repairs for me to book in its just easier shipping it straight out unless its too heavy and no box i make other arrangements.)

This does not inspire a lot of confidence. It appears that there are quite a number of hoops to jump through.

At this point, I have to say I am glad I did not spend R30-40k on one of these.

Thanks for the replies nonetheless.

Hi There,

I got the NavaSolar Trolley Inverter 3KW / 24VDC 2560WH LIFEPO4 on Takealot. Today at 14:00 I switched it on and it was able to power my fridge, monitor, laptop and WiFi. At around 17:00 it started beeping and showed an 04 error but the battery was still on 2 bars. I unplugged the fridge, still beeped, I unplugged everything and it still beeped. I increased the output voltage to 240 and it still beeped. So I’m not sure what the issue is

I tried reading the manual but nothing in there makes sense to me.

Is anyone able to assist me with this?

Your fridge might have kicked in and dropped the voltage so that it seemed the battery was lower. The beeping will happen until you charge it. As the 04 means you hit a battery low voltage. It'll keep beeping until it reaches a satisfactory voltage

Thanks so much, I’ll try charging it until and continue to monitor it

Each their own if it helps got a feedback from a client

said it was raoring fan wise at first then its been dead quiet now.

this was when he just got it and put it on charge. So again depends on the load.
im not sure on the hoops you speak of though

sounds like you need to charge it if its 2 bars of what i think you describing thats 40%.

Thank you! Charged it overnight for 12hours+ but when i removed it from the charger the battery reduced 2 bars and it continued beeping😔
