Nedbank credit card problems with Paypal, Amazon

Have had a similar problem in the past with FNB, but they have been quick to identify the problem and fix it on their side. Most recently was on the Apple App store soon after they switched to showing prices in ZAR. Happened over a weekend, but first thing Monday morning they called me to explain, apologise, and inform me that the transaction would now go through.

The problem is related to the bank and not to any of the sites listed.

That is what you get from using... net-'n-bank :whistling:

problem will probably be resolved before I have any need to make a purchase there.

I really wonder why this happened?!

Amazon has never asked for the CVV values either if I'm not mistaken.
CVV's aren't supposed to expire or suddenly not work any more, unless Nedbank perhaps changed something with their transaction verification.

I've only came across something like this when I bought DVD's from an American online store with my ABSA credit card, and the website didn't ask for the CVV either. It took me quite a while to get it cleared and eventually the online store had to get hold of my CVV.

There are so many variations of digit credit card verification values, since all the card providers basically use their own algorithm: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Card_security_code

Problem exists since end of last month

Since end of last week?? I have been unable to pay Spideroak (my backup service) since end of last month - credit card declined  if Nedbank doesnt sort this our soon, my service is going to be suspended. My credit card has also been declined at Android Play store last week.

Nedbank must be the worst bank ever. I only have SAA Voyager cards with them, and the issues are endless. This month the size of the electronic VISA statement jumped from the normal 600kb to almost 7Mb, and there is no difference in the size of the statement itself. I guess the American Express statement disappeared altogether this month. Nedbank is the Nashua Mobile of the banking world.

 Nedbank service is appalling. Their business banking is a sad state of affairs.

My NEDANK PRIVATE BANKER advised me to move to FNB last week when we had coffee when they asked me for more documentation for a shipment. My excess bond had more than double the security needed.

He said Nedbank business banking has seen the best staff disappear. Their Bryanston business centre is in shambles.

Next year will definitely move.

This has been happening to me since last week Monday, and it's now starting to become a real problem, as I have automated transactions that come off in the next few days that will fail because of this. Not very happy about it.

Google Wallet doesn't work, Paypal doesn't work. Got a Kickstarter project that will come off today on Amazon, and this will probably also fail.

As a test, I bought something on Steam last night, and instead of using my Paypal account like normal, I used my card directly. That went off without any issues, strangely.

What's strange though is that I would of thought this sort of thing (verification, CVV numbers etc.) would be managed by VISA or Mastercard?

I had a problem last week, Amazon Kindle payments did not go though. Paypal did not go though, but when i used companies credit card payment method it when though. (Need to get Credit card with Another Bank as well)
