Nedbank credit card problems with Paypal, Amazon

I was able to use my chip card on Easypay this morning no issues. Don't know what that means then.

Weird - my Google Play purchases are going through without a problem.
That was using the VISA - haven't tried the AMEX.

Tried my Mastercard an hour ago and it still did not work. Will try my AMEX as well.

Edit: Never mind - does not work either.

I am having a similar issue using my Nedbank Mastercard with any SA site that uses the PayU Payment Gateway (Kalahari, DSTV BoxOffice, Pick&Pay, etc) - PayU gets a "Do Not Honour" message back from Nedbank, Nedbank systems show "Invalid CVV".
No problem with sites that do not use PayU, so I am guessing that the international sites mentioned above and PayU use the same CVV verification or encrypt/decrypt process and it's broken for a range of cards which happens to include Nedbank Mastercards. I have had no luck with either PayU or Nedbank trying to get this fixed.

I'm not sure what's shocking; the Nedbank fail or the fact that people still bank with Nedbank :whistling:

2CheckOut

2Checkout is also having problems with SA Mastercards. I got this from a email from 2Checkout.

"Continuing difficulties with one of our global partners are currently preventing us from offering direct MasterCard processing services in your region. We are working hard to remedy this situation, and we will continue to keep you updated. At this time, we do not expect to be able to offer direct MasterCard processing services for at least the next 30 days."

I came here to say this. For more than the past week, my Astraweb recurring bill has not been able to go through. I also have a MasterCard credit card.

Nedbank experienced a systems error on Amazon.com and the PayPal online payment system late last week. This affected the Card CVV authentication process, resulting in the rejection of client transactions.

The Head of Risk: Nedbank Card, Rene de Villiers, confirmed that when clients shop online, transactions are validated against the Card CVV and are either approved or declined. In the case of Amazon.com and PayPal, the authentication checks did not come back with a CVV number, as a result Nedbank was not in a position to authenticate the transactions resulting in them being declined. The error has since been rectified and the system is fully functional.

Nedbank regrets this incident and any inconvenience caused and urges its clients to contact the Nedbank Contact Centre on 0860 555 111 should they experience any difficulty.
