So we have had some rotten luck the past 2 months. First the cistern in our 1 bathroom falls off the wall, flooding the passage and bedroom. Wooden floors naffed.
Put in a claim, they DRAG their feet, eventually they send a contractor to fix the toilet, great, now we wait for the floor quote. . and we wait and we wait.
As Murphy will have it, the pipe in the guest toilet bursts, flooding the damn bedroom and entrance hall. Seriously, I am over pipes and toilets at this point.
So eventually the bank sends an accesor, he gives the go ahead for all the damage to be repaired and we wait some more.
We then after chasing Nedbank for some answers, get told that in fact the damage caused by the cistern breaking is not covered and they not paying. The burst pipe however they will cover the damaged floors there.
Now I have pulled out my insurance book that they gave me and it clearly states that cisterns are covered. I mean this is seriously bs. I guess the only recourse would be the ombudsmen?
