I have a credit card with Nedbank.

Got a call from them this morning, offering me a supplementary credit card.

The call centre agent must be from somewhere up north, because she can barely speak English. Mispronounced my name, battles over her (scripted!) lines and gets flummoxed when I tell her that it is against the law to offer people unsolicited credit.

Get your act together, Nedbank. Oh and stop employing people like these to deal with the public. Use them for back-office work and get properly trained people to liaise with the publc.

Might be a scam.

And yes, unsolicited credit is against the law.

At least that stopped the deluge of credit card spam (and RCS card spam as well) :)

They offer the supplementary card because that forms part of their strategy. Each client should have 1 MasterCard and 1 Amex credit card. Clients are encouraged to use their Amex card buy earning double greenback reward points compared to MasterCard.

So you think people who pay service fees to a bank is not entitled to good service?
So you think people who pay service fees to a bank is not entitled to the bank not transgressing the law?

Its quite annoying to deal with ppl who arnt versed in english well enough.....
the point i think that Blu is trying to make is that if you are going to employ ppl to deal with the public make sure they can speak english properly as majority of ppl in business speak english....... the service desk agents always go through a training process and if it was as bad as Blu says than Nedbank needs to deal with this!

Stop being an idiot.

You made a point of the fact that your name was pronounced wrong. I don't see the train smash in that.

I can get over that fact, but I also pointed out that the person could not even read her own pre-scripted lines.

Furthermore, I also pointed out that a bank may not call people to offer unsolicited credit.

I am not being snobby, but if you pay for something - in this case service fees - you expect good service. If someone in a company cannot do the job, it should not become the customers' problem. Don't you agree?

There are lots of job in a business where one does not have to face the public and a person who has not yet mastered the language of commerce should be utilised in another capacity in the company.

I have said enough on this issue now.

Fantastic use of the word: 'flummoxed' :)
The rest of your post reeks of histrionic disorder though...
