Bought my bed in December from Bedking. Think it was the Comfort Solutions - Renoir bed.

I also struggled with back pain. Suggestions was to buy an extra length bed as I had the tendency where my feet would be hanging off the bed. Hence, additional strain on my lower back. Since I bought the bed, I have had zero pain in my back.

My wife got irritated as I was spending a lot of time laying down on beds and just chilling.

Funny that I actually didn’t buy extra length specifically because I like laying half on my stomach with one foot out the bottom and down.

Also no back pain since.

Different strokes for different folks.

I had a pocket coil latex top for a few months and it was terrible and after big fights returned it.

Went Cloud9 foam with latex top as firm as I could and can’t be happier.

My advice to OP is take your pillow with and go have a proper lie down on ones you fancy. Not 30 seconds hop on and off.

Lie down for at least 5 minutes and let your body settle into it.

Pretty sure my current pillow is k@k as well so not sure how good that'll work out.
I do hear you on the 30sec on and off. Will need some proper time this weekend to go sleep on beds it seems.

Buy a Memre Classic Pillow at Makro.

You’ll never look back.

Interesting. I normally start out in similar position as you mentioned, but somewhere during the night I move completely on my side.

Dusting off this thread as I just bought a Cloud 9 mattress. Got married 2 years ago and moved into the wife's place.. she had a soft mattress (also double std length) and it has been gradually killing my back. I called Simmons for a warranty call-out in the hopes that it was a faulty mattress but alas it was "Within spec". The warranty guy from simmons though said to me that he himself sleeps on cloud 9 foam. I didn't think too much of it until chatting to a chap at matress warehouse who also said he sleeps on cloud 9 foam (after a motorcycle crash and back problem specifically)

So I figured ok.. There's probably something to this. Tried it. Loved it. Bought it. Bought the bedding. Going to sleep early. Xoxo.

I thought I'd move to foam about 10 years ago. First I had a Cloud Nine. Omg I hated that mattress. Too HOT and back pain from hell.
Got rid of it after about a year.
Then I had a independent pocket coil mattress. Better than the Cloud Nine but i still had back pain. That mattress lasted 3 years.
Now I have a Tempur top of the range. Jeez do I hate this mattress. I wake up in a major sweat every night. Had to install a ceiling fan (best thing ever). Back pain hasn't gone anywhere. I spent so much money on this mattress I'm stuck with it. Every time I sleep elsewhere on a cheap sprung mattress I sleep like a baby.
So my 2cents: F**k foam.
Strange.
Here in jhb I had the basic cloud 9 and i found it to be cold. In winter I had to add electric blanket to keep me warm.
Bed was decent for lower back but not neck and shoulders.
I also had pocket coils, was all warm but the coils don't last. Get too soft.
Then I had close to top of the range tempur bed and best bed ever, for lower and upper back. And it keeps me warm and no sweats.
