I'm currently using Samsung Galaxy J5 I love everything about it but the battery drain so fast, I'm on a second battery I charge twice a day. I have account at Edgars I want to close it in June before I close it, I want to buy a new cellphone between R2000 - R2500. The cellphones which are within my budget are

1. Samsung Galaxy Prime Plus (but it's same as J5)
2. Hisense F20 (I love the phone but poor after service no accessories and it will never receive software updates)
3.ZTE A601 (big battery 4000mAh poor camera and RAM)
4.ZTE blade V7 ( nice phone but small battery 2500mAh so along the way I'm going to have issues like I'm having with J5)

If the reason you want to change phones is because of the battery issue, think again. They are all power hungry UNLESS you get rid of the bloatware and only run mission critical stuff on your phone.

Not interested in the new Nokia 3310 ?

Surprisingly that phone lasts a month on standby time, thinking of getting it when its released sometime this year.

Ideal situation where you have a strong signal all the time.

Other than using the phone (browsing/games), and excluding bloatware and gps tracking, the biggest consumer of battery is a weak signal. I connect to one tower most of the day. When the tower is down or running in "low power" mode my phone can use it's whole battery in 6 to 8 hours. The same battery lasts 2 to 2 1/2 days with normal use.

Fortunately us okes in urban areas do not have that as an added issue ( most of the time).

City boys. Feel sorry for you lot. Coms always available, fibre, 3G and LTE, free wifi,......

At least we don't get hit by OOB shocks after 10 minutes of downloading. It takes days to deplete data bundle with EDGE.

Of course it depends on what you are into. I am not a download freak though. My data bundle is normally enough to last me comfortable for a month.
