So, planning our farewell party and turns out it's not going to be cheap, hehe!

We want to cater for 40 people. I've managed to find a really nice venue, by the river, it's at called Kyalami Sport & Function Centre (kyalamifunctioncentre.co.za), but it seems to be a bit expensive, R4100 for 40 people, self catering.

However they do provide all the tables and cutlery for the event. I've managed to find someone to do the spitbraai, they charge R2600, which includes labour, the lamb, patatoes & bread rolls.

Does anyone know of other venues in Sandton, Kyalami, Midrand and Centurion that its worth looking at? Also, maybe a cheaper offer on the spitbraai? (I'm actually happy with the R2600 quote, seems reasonable)

I tried to write some software that can do a spit braai a while ago but it ended up only making coffee

A bit far, but there is a nice lapa with walk in Fridge and lots of braai areas in Rietvlei nature reserve in PTA east. Last time I spoke to them they supplied the wood as well.
