Hello everyone ... on saturday telkom finally installed my ADSL line only to find out my telkom internet account has not been activated yet ... I quickly made a call to another ISP to see if I can't get a secondary account setup .... that was done pronto!!! However I could not gain access to the net ...

Can anyone who's got the Dlink - DSL 300T advise me on the settings I need to configure to gain access to the net ..... been waiting for 6 Weeks to have it installed and now that it's done I cant' use it!!!

Is it possible to disable the PPP loggin settings on the modem and have Windows do it? ..... ... getting a bit desperate here ... :D ... please assist.

Thanx in advance!!!!

First thing you do is upgrade the firmware on that modem. Mine shipped with it already at the highest level, but check anyway.

When telkom installed your line the techie should've done a line test with his own modem. Check that this was done and that the line is actually working.

To have windows do the ppp-oe bit you need to set the modem into bridge mode. Nothing else. Leave all other settings at default.

Thanx Obelix .... The line was tested in front of me and yep he did go online with his modem , thanx.....So in other words I leave the DHCP running and then I modify another setting on the Modem, is the "bridge" part an option I select, and then I also set it to G.lite right?

Thanx

PEACE!!!
