Hi all,

I am downloading the Windows Vista RC1 iso direct from microsofts site using my internet download manager. (www.internetdownloadmanager.com)

As soon as the file hits 2gb it just cuts, like the download is finished but it has 500mb to go?

How can i finish the download or what can i do?

Ok i will try another download manager, what is a good download manager, beside getright and DAP, but that can support multi threaded downloads?

2Gb is a common limit - to do with number of bits used in addressing - and it might be affecting either your download manager or your filesystem. Is the drive formatted as FAT32? If so try to download to an NTFS partition. Or try another d/l manager.
Some guff on limits at:

I thought fat32's limit was 4gb and fat16's was 2gb.

DigitZA - how much free space is available on your drive?

Have you tried just downloading it via firefox's downloader?

Not quite as fancy but it may get the job done, and should do so before your line resets or you need to reboot considering you are on 4mbit.

Instead of Firefox's built in manager try using the Firefox extension called DownloadItAll and see if that works:)

Have you tried it with the download manager as recommended on the site?
Microsoft has partnered with Akamai Technologies to provide a Download Manager to help you get the ISO file for Windows Vista RC1. This Akamai Download Manager lets you pause, resume, and stop the download of the file. It will also automatically restart the download if the process is temporarily interrupted. Due to the size of the download we strongly recommend you use the Akamai Download Manager.
