I thought fat32's limit was 4gb and fat16's was 2gb.

Yes sorry you are correct. It probably relates to the app. I don't see why Reget can't even start the d/l. You maybe need to load the full correct file URL.

IDM is not recommended for big files, if you get disconnected or blackscreen reset, It will not join the file properly after everything's finish and you just wasted your time and cap.....Use something else instead!

hmm, I have always used IDM and I find it to be the best.. btw.

But I have often been downloading with it and have my PC restart and it restarts fine. Now I dont download such big files (around 300mb is about the biggest) but would that matter, because it definatley can restart files with alot of threads..

I use Reget Pro which might be different but I go Options>Program Options and increase the Number of Connections for Unlimited Mode and then make sure the traffic priority is set to unlimited.

The problem is their servers might not allow simultaneous connections.
Can reget download more then a 2gb file?
Yes.

lucky you then, I always have this problem and if you do notice the CPU usage when combine all parts of download at the end.

Not sure if this will work but hoping you still have that 2gb file and resume using the following proxy address.

cache.saix.net
Port: 8080

i use it as it sometimes helps if not all the time.

Plz check reviews on Download.com [not sure if there are more sites with info of spyware on the software you download] for any download managers you are using so you know you not creating more problems than solving :p

As for iDM i am using it on the laptop and it works great.

Just a thought but check your modem / router logs to see if you are disconnecting or maybe your iSP as they control when you do disconnect or so i have heard except TK.

If you haven't been suggested already iMO most realiable way of getting stuff is through newsgroups as you also get pars that can repair an archive with 10% average of total size and guarenteed speed so try an international provider first then move onto iS with their 2GB iNT / 28GB local accounts.

OMG, i used "DownloadItAll" which feo told me to use, it got to 2gb and gave me a timeout error, and when i resumed it, it started again for the begenning!!!

Now if i just use the normal firefox download manager, will it timeout at 2gb too or what?

Go get the firefox plugin -> DownThemAll, great built in download manager... If you have uncapped international, why dont you just download it off news server, way easier...
