Hi Guys.

I've got a customer with a massive problem...

i can see this is all pointing towards re-doing XP but anyway - lets try.

-Customer has got an LG notebook
-has got the Merlin u740 3g/hsdpa card

problem phoned in : his 3g/gprs doesn't dial up ...very sketchy hey.

when inserting the 3g card - you hear correctly 2 sounds (like when u add PNP hardware) - one for the 3g and one for the wifi part of that card.

as soon as you start the vodafone mobile-connect app - in the left bottom corner u get:

not connected

searching for merlin u740

not connected

searching for merlin u740

....i've checked in device manager - it gets a comm port - and it gets added to the modem section (without yellow or red marks on components)

HOWEVER...

i cannot run a diagnostic query via control panel - it fails

..

i've uninstalled the whole software set , deleted the \prog f \ vodafone ect.

not helping..

i've changed laptops...yes - then the card works..

so what is screwing this card around - i've "cleaned" the "environment" for a reinstallation - but negative...its not working.

any 2cents b4 i have to redo XP :D

thx

Resource clash maybe? Anything else in Device Manager with exclamation marks?

Try and disable / remove drivers for the built in bluetooth and WiFi, and then try again.

Are you on SP2?
