Replacement is generally the problem as you then are never satisfied with the alternative not being the same.

Do you have sugar in your coffee? Do you drink sugar soft drinks?

I found I could stop drinking Coke while I kept at sugar in my coffee. Once I dropped the sugar from coffee I was able to nullify drinking Coke.

Of course instant coffee became a big no no very quickly so now I’m a coffee snob.

I dropped Coke for a very long time and now I have it as a special treat once a month or so.

I despise Coke Zero, but oddly I find Pepsi Max tastes close to Real Coke so I can stomach that in between but generally I’ve just gotten off the soft drinks.

Never had a sweet problem as such, but I do love my chocolates but I’m managed to vastly reduce that in take.

Someone told me that stopping sugar in coffee takes one week only ... I tried it, and it works. I won't say coffee tastes now like sugary coffee, it doesn't ... but I can appreciate the coffee's flavour a little better so it balances out.
For me, freshly ground beans needs no sugar. In fact sugar ruins a fresh cup of coffee / espresso / latte. The textured milk also sweetens the coffee, if milk is preferred.

Most instant coffees and the chicory stuff needs a spoon of sugar to get rid of that awful bitter taste. Heck, even Nespresso needs a spoon of sugar at times to get it down my throat, although it can do without, just borderline.

You have to just stop it outright. The sugar addiction needs a hard stop and your system needs a reboot in what it expects in food. Cant slow it down, and you must not try replace with extra bad food. Just cut it out, drink more water, and eat healthier meals and you will lose the sweet tooth in under 2 weeks.

The bad less sugar coke basically got us off our addiction.

If you eat too much sweets just make sure you buy bad tasting sweets.

This is a large part of the answer, I stopped buying chocolate and chips because I'll generally have it under control till I don't and then I'll finish the whole packet/slab in one go.

I realised it's easier if it's not there in the first place and in any case it's just useless food anyway so it's a bonus not eating it nor spending money on it.
Same with me, Im on day 4? or 3? its all a blur at the moment.
The binges are the bad part. I cant stop on one small packet, it ends up being 3-4
Sweets rot your teeth and gums in no time - do you have dental issues?
Some, but nothing too major. its more related to wisdom teeth, but no real cavities or so on
Deadly, crippling? OP has more drama than the Baldwins.

Maybe do it slowly ? if you struggling

cut down one thing at a time every month. First start decreasing the size of the sweets you buy. Since you already removed the sugar from sodas and coffees.

If you eating a bag of sweets maybe reintroduce the sugar into a cup of tea and when you feeling for the sweets make a cup of tea instead but do not keep sweets in the house. If you have a very strong dependence on sucrose then cutting it off quickly will just make you fail.

and stop going to the sweet shop. Maybe make a note of how much money you spend on sweets and candy and see how much money you wasting on it. Think of it as a drug addiction and approach it in that manner.
