I recently installed Beta1 of Ubuntu. I tried to installing Keryx so that I can download media codecs offline. But it is a pain in the a$s to use since it won't execute under Ubuntu. I googled for a Deb package without any luck, it appears that there aren't many alternatives for package downloads with all dependencies for later off-line installation :(

I'm offshore and the only access that I have to the internet is through company work stations, and I won't be home anytime sooner. Damn, Linux can be frustrating

Not sure what you are asking assistance for, I would guess it is how to install Keryx then?
In that case, they already offer a Deb package:
http://launchpad.net/keryx/stable/1.0-release/+download/keryx_1.0-public21_all.deb

When you create a new profile on Ubuntu, you will need to copy it to your flash drive. The profiles are saved to the “keryx” folder in your home directory. Keryx needs to be installed as a package now because Ubuntu 10.10 and later no longer allow executables on flash drives.
Straight form the Keryx webiste.

But it is a pain in the a$s to use since it won't execute under Ubuntu.
The installation deb or the program itself? If it is the program itself what is the CLi output if you try and run it?

I downloaded the Deb package, but I can't install it it requires "python<2.7" , natty is using version 2.7.1. looks like I will have to revert to Maverick
