need help!

Noob in distress! My internet has just picked up a real nasty habit of downloading something, no idea what the heck it is though!! I'd sit on the desktop,not loading any pages, not even on firefox or internet explorer and I check internet status to find 2mb been downloaded the past 20 seconds of doing nothing!!

Please help me fix this!!!

Perhaps Windoze or antivirus updates? Maybe check your settings...

Get a firewall 2 show u what is going online.

also, check for spyware.

Get a better firewall than windows firewall... something line ZoneAlarm.
I also had this problem with the onboard LAN so luckily I had an old ethernet card I had so used it and its more controllable.
