So I have been thinking about either upgrading soon or waiting another year or so to get the funds for a new PC:

Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz) not over clocked
Asus Sabertooth Z77 MB
Gainward GTX580 Phantom 3Gb GPU
Seagate 3.5 inch Barracuda 1TB GB 7200rpm
8Gb Kinston HyperX Blue 1600Mhz Ram
Cooler master V6 CPU Cooler
Cooler master GX750W PSU

If I can buy the right components at a reasonable price to make my PC last another 2 or 3 years then I would have no reason for a new one, other than the RAM I am a bit stumped at what would be the right components to make it worth while. I will mention I like to play my games at the highest detail possible and with the new games being released I have a feeling I am going to struggle a bit, any help will be appreciated.

TBH, Its still a good PC, I wouldnt touch that PC because you can still squeeze a year or 2 out of it.

Since you have a Phantom GPU you can easily overclock it pretty well.

Core clock at 870MHz and memory clock at 2090MHz.

One thing you can maybe do is invest in a good solid state drive to install your OS to. The prices have come down quite a bit and they can be had for reasonable prices.

Another thing I would look at is replacing the GPU - I am not sure how brand loyal you are but I have heard the AMD 280X are fantastic value for money cards (rebranded 7970's). I was considering going for the MSI 280X end of last year, but I decided to hold out a bit (still using my GTX570)

What is the best SSD value for money wise at the moment? I am not one for overclocking, it makes me nervous just thinking about it :p

I haven't looked around but it all depends on the amount of space you think you will need. I ended up taking a 60GB Agility 3 about two years ago, and it is alright for what I want it to do - nothing flashy and it serves its purpose well. I only have Windows 7, Diablo 3 and MS Office installed on it. Most of my other apps are on my conventional 500GB drive, as I do not use them often. I think a 128GB drive is good middle ground, as that leaves you with +- 110GB useable space to install what you need.

You can get a Samsung 840 PRO 128GB for around R1800, which has enough space for most users and decent RW speeds (Read: 530MB/s, Write: 390MB/s). They also come with a 5 year warranty.

On the cheaper end of the spectrum, a Transcend SSD340 Series 128GB will set you back around R1000, but with lower IOPS and slower RW speeds

Buying a SSD wont give you better performance only better load times.

What resolution are you playing at?

I can't really see any need to upgrade anything with those specs.

Agree with Ponder. You don't have to upgrade yet.

You could invest in a SSD for Windows and Game load times. If your money is burning your hands and you want to do something with it, then you could upgrade your GPU to a R9 290 or something. You could even Overclock your CPU if you feel like it.

My PC at the same spot right now. No need to upgrade anything, so I'm looking at a new KB and Mouse :p See if you can't do the same :)

Maybe an SSD and more RAM will be enough to hold me over for another 2 years? Also if I could find a liquid cooling solution for that GPU I think it would make gaming a bit more peaceful :D , I think my vacuum cleaner makes less noise. Does anyone know where I could find something like that?

Saying all of that....
