Sign up with GoogleI have owned a 3G card since June last year. I bought the card for one reason which was to play World of Warcraft (WOW) as I cannot get ASDL atm. After some teething problems and trying various cards I found that the Novatell card worked even though I was playing with 900 ping it was stable. Until a month ago.
In case you dont know how WOW works, the game is installed on your machine and packets are sent back and forth between the game server and your machine and even in the most intense parts of the game the connection held.
Since a month ago when I step into those parts of the game I get instantly disconnected.
I was told to try upgrading the card to the 1Mb line and its worse for disconnecting than my old card. I have switched btwn the two to test both. I have also reinstalled my entire machine just in case it was a machine related problem. I have absolutley nothing running besides WOW on my connection.
Yet when I am receiving NO packets, I have monitored this on the network recieved and sent bytes as well as the dashboard, if I ask for a Google search it comes up instantly.
Edit: Please do NOT ask me to phone your help desk as they dont even know what a packet is or how a shaped account works.
This reminds me distinctly of a shaped line? How is it that a month ago when a 384 line could handle the push of information and now it cannot?
As for reception I have 4 bars constantly I am less than 200 meters away from the tower and am four stories high.
I am extremely frustrated at the moment as the very reason I pay R1200 a month for a 3G connection is currently useless to me.
