Which would be best?

15m HDMI cable like this:

Or

HDMI over ethernet (with shielded cat6 cable):

The signal will be going from my home server to a TV in the lounge, 1080p only.

Go with HDMI over Ethernet.. 12 meters is pushing it..
What this one said but also have a look here, might be cheaper.

I run 2 HDMI cables over 20m without issue.

This, if you don't mind the cost of doing it properly, proper kit isn't cheap as I tried some of the cheaper options which were rubbish...

What brand are they if I may ask? Oh, and have a look where?

Takealot has similar ones. Though those appear to be for very long runs. I'll try the less expensive ones first, and if that fails have a look at those.

12m is about the maximum length that the HDMI official spec allows and in theory, it should work.

The real issue is the two devices on either end and which level of the HDMI specification they support. I've had 20m HDMI cables work flawlessly and 10m ones fail because of compatibility issues between devices, mostly due to the drop in voltage across the cables.

Try this: https://www.hdcabling.co.za/product...nd-hdmi-to-hdmi-cable-signal-up-to-40-meters/

It will help future proof the install if you change your TV, HDMI cable or media server device.
