The sooner SA reaches rock-bottom, the sooner it can make the choice to change and prosper, or become a failed state.

NEHAWU, I say go for it.

Exactly, I am well aware of that, very contrary to the BS that is being peddled here.

The union that represents public servants has been very vocal on that, there are too many managers who earn the big bucks and too few hands on deck. That should be dealt with.

Sure, as always there would be some of the lower paid workers who are not overpaid, or are even underpaid.

However, contrary to your rather vocal sweeping statements, I can assure you that many, many government employees are completely overpaid, and this is a huge, huge problem.

Also far too many employees for the functions to be performed, ie very, very low productivity.

Also present in SAA, Eskom, most municipalities, etc, etc.

And also one of the main reasons why SA will be downgraded to complete junk quite soon.

That's the problem, I don't need your assurances, put facts on the table and let them do the talking.

And what sweeping statements are you talking about? All I did was ask the guy who said they are relatively well paid to whom was he comparing them, he disappeared, you came in tried to support his statement with some mysterious reports you have seen, I asked for the reports, dololo.

Don't be too all over the place talking about SAA and Eskom, let's stick to one thing and move it out of the way first.

Believe what you like, I have seen enough information about salaries in government and municipalities, I stick to my demand for 10 % salary cuts for all of those organisations. For two years running.

But yes, maybe only for the higher paid levels.

That's why I was hoping you'd share the information, so that those of us who have not seen enough government salary information can shut up and retreat back to our corners.

Do you ?

All of those links refer to public servants.

Personally, however, I am talking more about lowers levels where salary levels are well in excess of private sector levels.

That's why I specifically added the "in the context of this thread" part. I have a feeling you don't looking at the some of the links you have posted.

Think what you like.

I believe that we seriously need salary cuts for public servants, at least for the higher paid ones.

Pretty sure that the IMF will agree with me when the stuff hits the fan in the next year or two.

Short of publishing peoples payslips on the net there's no way to share that info. I could give you some payslips but it would be unethical and illegal, I'll be so deep in the **** I won't be able to breathe. When you tell others what they earn (ballpark without disclosing personal info) they simply don't believe you.
