Neo Broadband LTE 6mbps

Hi all,

I recently switched from Hellkom to Neotel on the 6mbps package.

I'm a bit confused with my line performance......
-Early in the am or late in the pm i.e. "quiet times", I get close to full speed at around 5.75 or 5.8 mbps
-Busy times, I get around 3-4 mbps.

Both above measured using speedtest (generic www.speedtest.net or neotel specific neotel.speedtest.net).

These differences seem very high and it looks as though it due to network congestion. Is my assumption correct? is there anything that can be done? I'm in the Midrand area and have direct line of sight from my roof to the Neotel offices (where I assume there must be a tower). My installation included the external unit mounted on a pole.

Any advice appreciated.

They have a 25:1 contention ratio on the Noe Broadband connection and might be why your speed drops at peak times. I'm on the 2 Mbps LTE and always get the full 2Mbps.
