Neobroadband Cape Town LTE?

Does anyone know if Neotel has LTE coverage in Cape Town? Their coverage map indicates I have coverage of the Neobroadband service.

I'm very interested as an alternative to the ADSL nightmare I've been having in Brackenfell (congested 2mb), but I'm hesitant if it's going to be a WiMax installation.

The Wimax service is the same as the LTE service. Just the outdoor CPE is bigger, thus a bit more obtrusive, especially if you are in a complex with pedantic committee.

You will only know what you are getting once the installer arrives and tests. But i have seen cases (here on MBB) where the installer only test for 1 type, and not the other. So you may have LTE coverage (in JHB/PTA), but they test only Wimax. In CTN it's mostly all Wimax, till NT decide to pass a few base station down south!.

My concern is the baseline latency. Wimax seems to have a start at around 50ms+ while LTE starts at around 10ms which is sufficient for me.

Maybe if someone can chime in on the quality of Neotel's Wimax service in Cape Town Northern Suburbs?

I have a buddy who's got Neotel Wimax. Will ask him for a ping response local & international. Doubt if it goes > 50 mS.
