NeoBroadband Omni announced: Neotel's latest broadband service

Wow TB of data on soft-cap has to be a typo from them... :p

Am I missing something? The "Uncapped" table depicts a soft-capped product (with obviously the wrong units on the Soft Cap column), and the "Soft Capped" table seems to be for a capped product.

Looking at those prices I think Neotel was formulating this product a few years ago, and only released it now :/

Yippee!!! More choice for the consumer and hopefully lower prices in 12-18 months if this takes off in the smaller towns.

NeoBroadband Omni will be launched in several smaller towns across South Africa in the next 12 to 18 months.

Pricing still on the high side but would consider it just to spite Telkom because of their mandatory line rental.

I say, bring on!!

The Soft Cap makes sense. I think it is similar to Telkom's soft cap where they cap downloads but only allow certain protocols like web browsing emails etc. Still, Telkom seems to be the better option by far.

Surely that can't be TB, I mean come now people how the F are you going to do a TB's @ those speeds?

Those soft caps though in GB look about right. Kudos to them. Pricing's decent considering it's wireless.

Is Neotel avail in P.E?

Maybe they mean you will be rate limited when you reach the "soft cap". In other words empty-web's favourite word, "throttled"

Clever product, right in that ADSLish price range, but cheaper than the business uncapped accounts. soft cap allows business to still function even if they go over the data budget, but can still get online.

Questions:
Asymmetrical?
Upload speed?
SLA?
radio bands ant tech being used?
range?

To me this could have huge traction in areas ADSL is not reliable or not available provided they can ensure good uptime and stable latency.

We are using a WiSP now and things are much better than on ADSL, mainly due to being able to get decent upload speeds.
