Hi guys,

I've been using the Neobroadband Wimax Lite 4Mb for about a year now. So far, very happy with it!

However, I've been wondering if I can't replace the router with something a bit better. At the moment, I have the Billion 7300w router, which works fine enough, but I have my doubts about the wi-fi speeds and range.

Is it possible to switch to a new router? I'm not sure how that actually works or what needs to be done, so I would appreciate some help from someone here who actually knows what he's doing. Also, if there are any suggestions for a router brand and model, I would appreciate that as well!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ribben,

Don't know the Neotel Wimax setup myself, but in general, if your router does do the dial, then you should login to the router, find that dial-up settings page where is says something like
dial number ="#777"
username = "somenumber@neotel.co.za"
password = "smetingelse"

If your router has this, then write it down, and insert those values into the new router dial setup fields.

This is simular to ADSL setup, so most generic routers do this now, but check before you buy.
