Plenty promises, no delivery

"We promise cheap prices... in 2009"

Personally, I think vodacom will be offering cheaper broadband before neotel

Look what Neotel has to compete with from the government I'm sure they would have had something more substantial by now if it wasnt for all governments fudging about!

These Costs that Neotel has incurred.
Anyone know how much so far.
Any business has to recoup their costs through selling their products and the longer Neotel takes the more the costs escalate. I fail to see how they are going to be profitable any time soon considering those costs are compounding daily. By the time they eventually do sell something what would they have to charge for it just to cover themselves.

So why haven't they laid the cable already?
They have been planning for a long time now!

True but this SEACOM cable looks like progress. :)

The SEACOM cable looks a lot more promising than the EASY, InfraCo, Flag, etc cables that have been mentioned.

What would be nice is if we could get an official commencement date of the cable. What would be even better is if we could somehow monitor the progress of the cable once it has begun

I like the talky talky happy talk,
Talk about things you like to do,
You got to have a dream,
If you don't have a dream,
How you gunna have a dream come true

Since I joined this forum many moons ago....nothing has changed in SA..only gotten worse.

Besides the ADSL Reg's

Neotottie has been the biggest dissapointment to date. They have abolutely lost the consumer market due to their inability to at least commit to giving us information on the three Telskommel evils: price, cap and shaping.

They can lay a 100 cables and launch a thousand satellites but it wont make a difference. They refuse to answer the consumers and tell them their pricing structure, plan with capping and shaping.

Imho Telskommel is much more transparent...and that I said with vomit in my mouth.

Sies Neotottie, shame on you!!!!!

That's not true. We now have a SNO, Telkom SAT3 monopoly ends in November and Neotel are going to land Seacom.

Services are imminent.
bwana's point is that unless they offer services we can actually sign up for right now, they don't actually exist to us, and I agree with that. What use is it saying we have a SNO when can't make use of any services for them?

What I would like to know is who exactly is getting service from neo. There must be some businesses/ISP's buying from them. Why is everyone so quiet about it.
