Nevertel

Three words Neotel...
WHEN?? WHAT?? WHERE??

Personally I am not in the slightest interested in a wireless broadband because of the high latency...
WHEN oh when can I expect a residential fixed line from Neotel?

It has also secured contracts with a number of Internet service providers.

Has anyone got bandwdith on the Neotel backbone?

I've only ever seen SAIX, IS and Verizon.

Neotel will launch in March 2008, at least that's what I've heard...

D

And it was also supposed to be April this year and then definitely before the end of the year, so come March 2008 it will be June 2008, and so it goes on.

As with everything in SA telecoms, IBIWISI. Not very convinced right now I must say, especially if they're recruiting from Eskom.

Their customer service told me in this week, that it will be end of November. Hope they stick to this date, because I would like to give Telkom the finger.

I really don't care about them providing their own fixed-line solution, I'm only interested in cheaper bandwidth. They've been promising that for a while now, so IBIWISI, but selling bandwidth cheap enough to allow the ISPs to provide a truly uncapped solution for the same amount we're paying for 3GB now would be super.

Well I just phoned Neotel and he assured me that either by December which is their financial year end or Jan.

Well do we really have an option at the moment. We either hang with the "Devil" or go with Neotel, so we have to wait......for now

Neotel will have a hard time to re-establish itself as a credible, reliable entity in the consumer market.

I will sit back and watch for at least three months before even considering Neotel, and in general, I'm one of the suckers falling for new stuff.

Love the Headline.
Phoned them a couple of months ago, and they claimed that the service was going to launch in Sep/Oct - Maybe they meant next year LOL. Took down all my details and promised to put me on a trial list as well.
Now, I'm not expecting much - maybe end of next year.
I was so tempted to contact Telkom again, but after the recent fiasco, I got a wake-up call. Still waiting for my cheque from them from 8 months ago - the thieving B$#@$ !!

Its like two parallel lines heading of into the horizon, they seem to be meeting up with each other but as you try to walk up to that point it seems to keep moving away again.

just thought of something. isnt vsnl an indian telecoms company?

if they are and they making some nice profits at home in india from the blossoming call center market, why would they want to reduce prices here? they know that they can keep prices the same as they have always been and just provide better service and people will flock to them. so what i would do is keep prices high, give better support, corner the sa market at way high prices and at the same time increase the market for my products in india as it is still a better option than SA

its possible
