Sounds like Neotel is ready to b1tch slap the rest of the Telecom companies :D

The only thing I want to hear is them Putting something on the table. Thus far I don't see anything on the table. Hopefully this Will happen next month.

But what will make them better than the WISP's out there? A added Voice service? lol

The thing putting me off about these Wireless service providers - $$$ Wireless Hardware required at startup. :(

But only time will be able to tell. . .

However, she says the launch will be the “first noticeable event Neotel has ever had” and will focus on Neotel's core offerings, to business and consumers.

Corrected Mala Suriah's statement.

For the new people here, ever since this forum started practically every new broadband internet provider has promised to drastically change the landscape... we're still waiting for that to happen.

What we have seen is a gradual change for the better and I expect this trend will continue, I doubt any company will make this happen overnight (though I'm more than willing to eat my words of Neotel actually does cause an upset)

 what bigger than NeeTel's launch event last year, where NeeTel launched nothing for consumers - the only other event I'm aware of that peripherally involved NeeTel was !CASA's licensing announcement of the SNO [now aka NeeTel] in December 2005, so I can only imagine that NeeTel is planning an event involving a jumbo and 337 industry leaders and a free holiday to South Korea or Japan or Switzerland or Hong Kong to witness true broadband and oodles of raw bandwidth that would give all the Steves at Telkodemonopolies instant heart attacks...

Neotel will arrive in smaller towns, (in rural areas like the N/Cape) maybe within 3 years??
This seems to be in line with Neotel's plans to provide wireless connectivity to all of SA's major cities, in addition to large corporate customers having access to a range of services
