How do you manage with only 250kWh per month, one or two people?

Think the best thing I learnt to manage is switching geysers off and on. Been monitoring it since 2003... and not one month past 230kw actually!

Running a house (two people) with solar geysers, gas stove, led globes everywhere. Around 400 units a month at what used to be R2.61/unit.
Will cost 2.86 going forward at the granted increase.

This FU game being played by GOV and its SOEs ain't fun anymore, even with plenty of lube :crying:

Are we sure this is actually 9.8% Vs now, or Vs what has already been granted?

I thought I read somewhere a while ago that they lost the court case saying meaning Eskom got 5ish% anyway... Will have to dig it up.

If you borrow R150k from your bond, and buy a Solar system, you will save close to the R1500 a month installment.

Unless you're spending days away, turning it off shouldn't make much of a difference if properly insulated, install a geyser blanket.

I'm at around the 100-150kWh mark including cooking at least once a day, most days twice, washing machine every second week about, and dish washer every second day. All to do with modern lights and appliances, but I don't pay for geyser since hot water is piped in, would probably still be under 200-250 even if two people with geyser.

Go around and swap all your lights to LED, breakeven at higher brackets is already within a year or two.

Insulate your house before you spend all your money on electricity. It’s cheap and you can install it all by yourself. Roof, geyser, pipes, windows. Thank me later. Winter is coming

I am at home at 3pm until 8am daily. And 24/7 on weekends! Have a huge plasma (which wats elec). I put my geyser 30 min on daily.

So either my meter is broken for 20 years then, but not complaining

Led’s & geyser blanket nice suggestions.

Maybe the owner can be motivated to do this on your behalf to keep a reliable tenant such as yourself from leaving ;)
*&%^*(#R(^*(*^#RQ(*P^^(**%#RJ the owner or agents. I really thought the agents this time around was different to the others in town. Looks like they are all the same.
