Hi Shreez. Thanks for the feedback. Why then can I not set the Unotelly DNS. It's regionally blocking me. Do I need to set up the ip addresses as I have done on my PS3 as per your set up instructions. It seems as though when setting up the free trial account they automatically supply a South African IP address. What do u think?

That doesn't make any sense that UnoTelly is blocking you from doing anything.
Yes, please setup the UnoTelly IP address on your PS3, however please note these do change from time to time.
The best thing do would be to check their global list of servers here https://www2.unotelly.com/global-servers

Select whichever would work for you, and this will work.
Remember, UnoTelly does not provide you with an IP address, your ISP does. Don't worry about that, because it will confuse matters.
Just setup your trial UnoTelly account, and configure your PS3 to point to their DNS servers.

Hope this helps.

Hey Shreez. Is this the reason I cant set up Unotelly. Can't I set a overseas ip as my default ip. If this fails can u suggest another service. Thanks Dylan.

Hey Dylan.

I think the problem here is that you are over thinking this.

Let's start at the top.
Did you sign up for a free UnoTelly account?
If no, do this.
If yes, follow my instructions and point your PS3 to these DNS servers.
Follow the rest of the guide and then test Netflix or Hulu.

I mean no disrespect, but I think you are getting yourself confused.
If you follow each step in succession I promise that it is very simple.
If you get stuck at any step, let me know, but right now you are all over the place!

There is nothing to setup on UnoTelly at all. Just sign up!

Good luck!

- Sign up for UnoTelly trial
- Enter DNS ip addresses into your ROUTER
- For completeness sake block the public DNS http://help.unotelly.com/support/articles/192836-why-do-i-need-to-block-public-dns-lookups-
- Check quickstart.UnoTelly.com to make sure all is well with the setup
- Read this article on different ways to automatically update UnoTelly IP address http://help.unotelly.com/support/articles/78930-update-ip-address
- Now delete the DNS settings on the ps3 and set everything back to default
- Delete Netflix app as well as data under game data
- Reinstall Netflix and login

That's the problem.

You shouldn't be changing your ip.

Just your DNS.

Hi Shreez. Thanks for all your help. Managed to get my account set up last night. Had to reset the Unotelly ip. Problem solved. Netflix is awesome and will be cancelling Multichoice next month. Good riddens! Have a great day. Also impressed that I have no buffering on a 2mb line however will be going 4mb soon.

Hey Dyl,

That is fantastic news.
It's always such a pleasure to hear a success story :)

I think you also need to give thanks to Chevron, SL1v3R, DeathStrike among others for always assisting when questions are asked, usually before I get a chance to reply!

Thanks guys, and well done Dyl. Welcome to being DSTV free!

Install Aptoide (not warez) www.aptoide.com for access to region blocked apps like Netflix, Hulu, Hulu Plus, BBC iPlayer etc. Be aware that on some android devices the highest version you can use for Netflix is 3.7.1 due to them hard coding the DNS IP addresses into the app.

Another route for obtaining region blocked accounts is to open a browser session where you are not logged into any google services and then go to play store to find your app. Copy the URL of the app page into this site http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ and download.

Hi Everyone. All has being glorious especially since getting rid of DSTV from the beginning of the month however I have just upgraded my TI 2mb to 4mb uncapped and have started experiencing buffering issues on Netflix. Hulu running without a glitch and has better image quality over Netflix. My Netflix connection seems very unstable and the pixel density jumps between 280 pi to 760 pi. At no point does the pixel count stay fixed for longer the 30 seconds.

Have tried to change the primary DNS location and am getting the same performance results. Do I need to change the secondary DNS as well? Is there perhaps something I need to do to prioritize my streaming on my router. Am running DNS through my PS3 and not my router.

I must mention that I had no buffering issues on my 2mb uncapped line. Getting good pings of around 30 ms on my current 4mb uncapped line.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dyl

Very very weird. Always had buffering issues with Hulu but never with Netflix.

How does the ps3 app compare to the Samsung smarthub netflix app? I would assume the ps3 is a bit smoother?

Unotelly doesn't affect mail settings....
It only affects traffic destined to Hulu or Netflix.

Personally I find it a lot smoother.
In addition, the PS3 app is a lot more rich and functional. I see now that they have trailers for the featured series that they have.
The Samsung app is a lot more basic.

Play with both, but my preference is the PS3 app, any day.

Thanks man,

My issue with the samsung app is it takes so long to get into smarthub, then into netflix. Will check it out tonight. Haven't used the app on the ps3 yet.

Hi all,

I am having some problems too - followed the steps above (signed up for Unotelly trial etc). Got all the way to downloading the Netflix and Hulu apps. But when I opened the Netflix app it told me that it is not supported in my region yet. Any assistance?

I did manage to get Hulu working but it's buffering REALLY badly on my new Bitco account. Which is really disappointing. I'm not sure what to do to fix that.

Thanks!
