California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s anti-recall campaign received a $3 million donation from Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings, a Thursday filing to the California secretary of state said, according to reports.

It was the Stop The Republican Recall committee’s largest donation to date, according to Politico.

Newsom, who is expected to face a recall vote in the fall due to an effort started by Republicans and others who criticized his coronavirus restrictions, has an advantage over his challengers in that state law allows him to raise unlimited amounts of money. Conversely, his challengers are limited to $32,400 in their direct accounts because of campaign laws.

I have always wondered what Netflix was doing with the Billions of Dollars they are making, because they certainly purchase and air such bad content that it should be free. Now I know they use our money to line the pockets of the far left, socialist communists.

If their content is so terrible, then why do you subscribe?

Would be a tiny pocket lining. He's worth much more than that. Not a fan or anything just skimmed over his bio

Not sure if any of you follow MeetKevin on youtube. It's sad, but I have no doubt he would improve California by 1000x if he became governor.

There's a reason Newsom has been in power for 18 years, and California's crisis has deepened in those 18 years. Corruption, baby. Facebook suspended MeetKevin's post on Insta where he announced he's running for governor. Turns out Facebook also bankrolled Newsom to the tune of 3 million dollars last time he ran.

Favor for a friend.

I, too, hate it when capitalist companies support the communists.

Unfortunately it's not your money if you paid for a service they provide.

Since the recall failed and California will now have more of the same old, hopefully Netflix can use the money to make better quality movies or series, because everything they have released this year really sucks balls.

Was the donation made by Netflix or the CEO?

You subscribe, binge watch and then unsubscribe.
It really isn't worth keeping a subscription with them all year.

Most would probably sub year long to Disney or such just to plonk down the kids

Not Netflix, the CEO of Netflix. 2 different things. Netflix would probably be boycotted if they favoured a political party directly. He's doing it in his own capacity.
Same as if you donated to a political party in your own name and not your company's.
