Back to the dark art of torrenting I go.......![]()
How does this impact you? Namibia has their own netflix.Back to the dark art of torrenting I go.......![]()
I've been enjoying the series Warrior, which is filmed in Cape Town.Wonder if they know many foreign movies are shot in SA employing a lot of extras and local crew... We already have such a dismally small selection of movies for SA on Netflix. Instead of dragging everyone else down to our level, why don't we notch up our production and output so that other countries want to watch our movies? Instead we restrict, how does that grow our export potential....
How much local content do you think they own? Netflix is going to have to buy it from somewhere. How would the State benefit from enforcing a 30% local content compliance?
Bye Bye Netflix
Netflix didn't comment as far as I can tell...Sure Netflix I believe you.
How does this achieve anything? Is their dumb idea that with less to watch people will turn to local content?
You are correct my bad, so it's just sensationalism.Netflix didn't comment as far as I can tell...
The other side of the coin is Netflix has 1813 shows and 3854 movies this would mean if they were to keep their catalogue size they'll need to have 544 local shows and 1075 local movies .Let's do the math.
Currently Netflix offer 40 South African movies and 20 dramas and series.
In order to comply with absurdity. Netflix will need to restrict the approx. total number of available movies to 120 and 60 drama/series.
