DStv versus Netflix price increases

Netflix Premium's price has increased more over the past six years than that of DStv Premium. This is despite Netflix only increasing its prices once in 2021, while MultiChoice increases its DStv prices annually.

However, the prices of DStv Compact Plus have, on average, increased faster since 2018.

Another new DStv article?

another hit piece...??

Shall we ignore the fact even with increases netflix is STILL cheaper and still offer more value for money.......

Next hit piece, if you include internet subscription to the netflix price it works out more, and then completely omit that internet subscription has more uses than a swiss army knife....

Honestly................

Yeah this is what happens nowadays - they paid for this shyte to be published today.
Simple as that. Even if it's utterly false, they paid so out it goes..

Disney + Sub R139 (Disney +, hulu, HBO bundle R340 +-)
Netflix R199
Cheapest internet connection R389
Openview Just installation + decoder
VPN R200.00 +-

R927.00 +-

For the cost of a premium sub, you can get better content, with the VPN you can get a lot of free to air channels add the once off cost of an open view decoder and you have local and free to air channels as well with the cost of an internet subscription.

Yes you will be limited on the sports front, adding a vpn you do have some variety on the sports front but not blanket cover, you will also have local news and free to air thanks to open view and completely free forever.

Fact of the matter is you can and people have done better for the price of a premium sub.

This hit piece is trying to justify their overpriced repeats.

Fck I have youtube premium and it still offers better value than DSTV and completely ad free.....

I find it so strange to see people still using dstv.
But I think the only reason is because our dumb people at SABC giving sports away... like they own it or something

What a load of rubbish!
This is simply not true. If it increased like that I would not have stayed with it.

Simple fact: DSTV is nearly R1k a month and I am still paying R199 for Netflix.
So R900 odd versus R200
This article is just pure...
Just link us too all the live sport we can watch on Netflix for R200

Okay, but I'm still not going to pay almost R1000 a month just to watch a few rugby games.
It’s R699 for streaming now. For a 12 month contract.

Other than for sport, the millions who still subscribe to DStv seem to simply like their content spoonfed, like they always did.
And if they're young enough, there's plenty of not so new movies they haven't seen. There's hundreds of movies on their catch up service.

Not sure what you mean in the second line

Yeah and all the adverts on DSTV are for what?
This is like comparing the price of bicycles vs F1 cars....................

This is the elephant in the room, and why DSTV is still subscribed to:

Because, that's how the media works now. They get attention by means of posting such ridiculous BS that it causes outrage and they sit and laugh "We got you once again... "
