Netflix vs ShowMax – SA price showdown

For me, a huge portion has to do with what device I can use to watch it - Smart TV, PS4, XB1, ATV, Kodi Plug-in etc.

I really don't want to use a browser if possible

Same. The price is ok, but the content and methods of delivery are also key...

Content plays a huge role

As a starting lineup its ok-ish.

As time progresses they will need to expand, but I have to admit, that takes of a lot of talent for all those platforms, and we're expecting it for free.

Netflix SD at R166.28 is a rip-ff against Showmax Premium since there is no Kooperasie Stories on Netflix :p

The one thing which nobody talks about is how good the platforms are at streaming. I tried Vidi for a while but it stuttered and the quality was sometimes bad. Netflix is super super smooth however. It adapts fast and I can watch for hours without buffering issues.

Upgrade your internet package then.

This is a schitty response that you keep spouting on this forum. High speed and/or high cap internet access isn't available in all areas. Even in areas that do have access to ADSL, speed is constrained by distance to exchange. And we haven't even gotten to exchange/tower congestion. Please stop this k4k if you don't understand a person's circumstances...

Oh please. The people with adsl issues are few and far between.

Most people are on home uncapped packages that complain they can't back up the internet.

You have stats and facts to back up your claim? People who use words like "most" in their sweeping generalisations usually don't have any...

We're willing to pay. But it has to be a reasonable price and we won't pay for poor or limited services. a Company as big as Naspers can surely not complain about affording skills...

I'm with Mike on this one. I have ADSL issues, it sounds like he has ADSL issues too. I know more people with ADSL issues than I know people without...

It is because you are on an uncapped account. When will people learn that uncapped accounts are useless because they are shaped into the ground. Rather sign up for a high gig account which is not so expensive anymore and your ADSL problems will disappear like mist before the sun.

Probably the same day that people learn that everyone else isn't an absolute idiot. So let's just have someone else explain it...

End Of The Road Lyrics said:
But you make a lot of assumptions,
And when you assume things you make an ass out of you and me.
Don't make an ass out of me.

It doesn't matter which account type I use or which ISP I use. My area is over subscribed and that's the end of it. Telkom has even installed a brand new line to my house and it has made absolutely no difference.

Some days it works, some days it doesn't.
