So you will be rewarded for finishing an entire season in a single sitting?

I am no expert, but I think that is a step in the complete wrong direction.

Bleeding subscribers yet, Netflix? :D

@backstreetboy can this work on Apple TV yet ?

I know the device struggles with the latest Netflix feastures

EDIT : Ah - they got in earlier this year. Whew.

The “Basic with Ads” tier comes at a more affordable $6.99 per month cost, but when it launched in November, people who subscribed to it couldn’t use it on their Apple TV. At the time, Netflix told 9to5Mac that the ads plan would work on Apple TV down the line, and now that support is here.

Plan isn't even available here. Why should I care?

So let me get this straight, people moaned cause of ads on linear TV, we got things like VCRs, PVRs and such to record the shows and fast forward, cable/satelitte added things like catch up to allow us to stream or watch shows with perhaps an ad at the start but the rest is ad free.
I mean Prime has had ads for it's own shows for years at the start of it's shows, now Netflix wants to add the same? So basically streaming is literally turning into cable/satelitte the world turns.
Sigh the old days of streaming are definitely gone and SA only really got it at the tail end

You should try My5 from the UK. There you have 7 ads before the show and then 3 more adbreaks during the show. Ads is 30 seconds long and unskipable. Channel 4 only has 2 adbreaks and was 30 seconds long

No one is forcing you to take the plan. We don't even get it here.
