Netgear DG834G problem - wireless disappears after power cut

Has anyone else experienced this?

If I unplug my Netgear DG834G or if the power trips in my home then its wireless capabilities disappear once it has restarted (wireless link light stays off). It happens every time it loses power. Then all I have to do is unplug it once more and plug it back in and everything's cool.

What's weird is that even if i remote to the router while its like this then it's as if its a standard DG834 without any wireless cos the options don't even appear in the menu and as I said the link light on the router stays off.

Has anyone else experienced this or should I be making a plan to send mine back?

It's less than a month old, the 3rd version of the DG834G running firmware 4.01.06.

At least the problem is easily reproducable so Duxbury won't think I'm tripping.

My friend has the same router as you do and has the same problem. He has just learned to live with it. Its about a year old and still going strong though.

My WGT624 just died on my last month after 9 months. It did the same thing, but the wireless light never came back on at all. Took it back and it was replaced.

I tried something else - change my wireless location to 'Europe' instead of 'Africa' now the wireless seems to switch on again fine when regaining power. How weird is that?

I thought I was being patriotic!
