I gather that the DG834GT doesn't support WDS but I think that I can set up my WG602v3 as a repeater and that is not the same as bridging. Is that right?

I would like the WG602v3 to act as a wired access point on a wireless network for for a computer that can only take ethernet connections. ie:

Internet ----- DG834GT ))) ((( WG602v3 ----- computer

So if it is possible how do I get the DG834GT wireless MAC address? I hope I'm not being stupid but all that I can are the ADSL and ethernet MAC addresses in "Router Status" and I've looked everywhere on the router.

Nevermind, I figured out that it's on the back of the router and it's the same as the LAN MAC address. I had actually been using it but the channel, encryption and pass phrase need to all the be the same.

BUT now that the AP sees the router, I can't access anything on that network. What else do I need to do? I have no idea from here!

So now that I broke my router trying to upgrade the firmware and fixed it; how do I get my router to 'see' the AP. Or does it have to. I have the AP seeing the router but that's it. I can't access the network on the router from the AP network.

Anyone every tried this?

this is the end of a very long day...
So I am having trouble understanding your last post

Can you show me ip addresses of all devices and pc's involved?
Have you successfully set up the second AP as a repeater and joined it to the wireless network?

Are you only having issues with the wired connection on the second AP, or on all connections on the second AP (wired and wireless?)

tau1z: Ok so I have the DG834GT ("router") hardwired to a PC and separately a WG602 ("access point") hardwired to another PC. The router and AP connect wirelessly. There are wireless devices which connect to the router but I took them all out for testing.

PC 1 -------- DG834GT ))))) ((((( WG602 -------- PC 2
192.168.0.3 Router Access Point 192.168.0.4
192.168.0.1 192.168.0.2
Channel 6 Channel 6

The problem I have is that the AP 'sees' the router - it found the SSID, channel and security type when I typed in the router's MAC address under Wireless Bridging/Repeater Mode. But there is no option related to this under the router's menu and I believe that I should set up the router somehow too.

I cannot ping the router or PC 1 from PC 2 or vice-versa.
