The Nokia 6630/6680 have some great attributes that's worth sticking it out with them, i.e. the fact that they do EDGE and 3G and the fact that you can choose/lock your phone to a specific tower with the netmonitor menu. I would not have been able to use EDGE if it weren't for the netmonitor menu, but then again, I am quite the geek

Someone wrote this in a previous forum... does anybody know where to get netmonitor or is built into the 6680 already?? Because im also having signal problems (it fluctuates in the different rooms - wtf) so i wanna try lock it to a specific tower. Anybody can assisst??

Hello weallloveleeds, welcome to this forum

To lock onto a tower, get the decimal channel number from menu 1.3. Then in menu 1.12 in options type in the channel number in hex format (use Windows calculator in science mode to convert dec to hex). Then the phone will be locked. To unlock, change the channel number to 3333 and reboot the phone.

To use 3G only, use menu 81.1
