A month ago my complex trustees signed the fibre installation with this company.

https://netstream.co.za/home/

Has anyone else here have experience with this company? Like how long it to compete the installation, their customer service and which is the best ISP to use on their line?

Thanks, do you know how long it took for them to compete the installation?

It has been over a year since we first engaged with Netstream and since February when we signed the contract and we still aren't live in our complex. Netstream then sold the infrustructure to Edge telecom who want to then sell it on again to Vodacom and the contract brought to us had somthing like 10 years exclusivity built in even though our original contract with Netstream had no exclusivity.

Good luck. Don't hold your breath.

Our complex is signed with Netstream last year around September and the project had a few delays. The company has good communication channels and the delays are reasonable so far as our complex has strict requirements regarding aesthetics.
The amount of trenching required to hide the cables put many companies off and only Netstream put the effort to make it happen.

Also, looking at the implementation and hardware to be deployed it looks much better than the competition.

Just as zeck has said, from what we've seen from their presentations to our BC, their hardware definately looks better than the rest. Hoping to sign with them in the next few days

That's not good news..

Hi Sandman1, is your complex live? Also, do you mind PMing me your complex details?

Comparing Edge/Netsream to Vumatel, Netstream infrastructure is far superior.

There are about 10+ ISPs now with Netstream.

We were supposed to have signed up with them back in January, but got recently informed that all their new projects have been put on hold indefinitely :(

Hi Zeck, mind if I ask which other ISP's have been added to Netstream? Last I heard, there was Accelerit, Greencom, Cool Ideas, and iConnect

Possibly, they seem to be handing over some of the fibre infrastructure to other players. (DFA?)

I'm not sure how many ISPs are live but apparently Afrihost, Easy Webb, Level7 and a few others should be on board.

Hi Zack. We are not live yet but we are not with netstream anymore as edge as taken over the project. Planning to go live by March. Also been told that our complex will be handed over to DFA afterwards. But we have about 16 ISP to choose from now.

Hi Zack, edge has taken over the build from netstream and will be handed over DFA once it's live. We will have about 16 ISP to choose from. Edge said we should be live by March end.

Hey man ... I also got my fibre installed in my place today by Edge (the white box in the middle).
Have you managed to get your internet working?
I want to sign up with Cool Ideas tonight but I have no idea if I could just use my Asus Fibre/DSL router and just use the WAN port or if I need an ISP Router that plugs into the Asus Router (using DHCP)...

So it seems the guys from Vumatel were busy yesterday running a cable from the main DFA cable in President Fouche to our complex.
Hopefully it won't be long now.
