Network Administrator - CPT Southern Suburbs

Location: Cape Town - Southern Suburbs - Claremont
Type: Permanent

Responsible for assisting in the management of the organization's network system and provide a stable working environment for commercial and residential infrastructure.

Qualification:

• Relevant 3 year Information Technology Degree or Diploma is preferable
• A Linux qualification is advantageous

Knowledge/Experience:

• 1-3 years experience in maintaining and supporting Linux Servers and services – Redhat/SUSE/Ubuntu Linux Operating System; Linux Operating System Skills: Samba, DNS, Apache2
• Networking as well as inter-branch connectivity or ISP level routing experience
• Microsoft server administration experience
• Knowledge of Asterisk, Linux (SUSE/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration, Network administration, Backups with Veeam, Cisco/MikroTik or related.
• VMware ESXi & vCenter working knowledge, MikroTik knowledge advantageous
• A good understanding of the TCP/IP networking suite, and be familiar with IP routing & switching protocols (Cisco or MikroTik experience advantageous)
• Experience in the operation of voice interconnects between telecoms networks advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the management and maintenance of servers on-site and in datacenter – Microsoft Server 2003 thru 2012; Ubuntu/CentOS/SUSE (Various editions)
• ISP Network IP address management and routing auditing
• Commercial and Residential internet client support, diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Development of operational and installation technical documentation
• Assistance in maintenance of network and systems infrastructures
• Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 17h00. However, due to the nature of your position you are required to be on call, on a rotational basis.

Own transport required.
