SAPS network itself would not be offline though, just their website.

Interesting part is that the data centre is supposed to be connected via two completely different connections, in other words a redundant link via another route. Were both vandalised, or was it not up to spec?

Probably dropped the other link as "it costs a lot of money and the one link is stable and what could go wrong?"....

Funny! My Telkom fibre connection just died just after midnight until around 00:40. Can't imagine they were related? Pretoria area.
