I just received a call from advanced data services, based on my email they have logged a query with planning & optimization, I should hear from them in 7-10 working days.
It's been more than a month and I still haven't heard anything.

Cell C 3G going from good to bad to pathetic to useless

I've been using Cell C's 3G (on a 5GB package) for six months and its now finally become useless. All started well and I was seriously impressed with them for the first 2-3 months ... then the cr@p started.

First it started switching to EDGE every 5 minutes for no apparent reason then it just started disconnecting every 2 minutes or so and when connected I seldom get less than 30% packet loss on pings (even though signal strength never drops below 96% and seldom below 98%).

Phoning their support is a pointless exercise .. tried time & time again but just end up on hold for 15 or more minutes waiting to be transferred to tech support till I give up ... yes I REFUSE to wait on hold any longer than that for ANYONE!

So, looks like I finally just have to go & get copper wire strung to the house :(

At least I can thank Trevor for one thing ... I know exactly where I'm going to insert this speedstick once I'm done with it ...

Moorsh, I have to agree with you, I'm also experiencing a lot of problems with my 3G, it is also going over to EDGE all the time, about HSDPA for 5 min and then bam, EDGE, so frustrating.

What is happening to CELL C?

Kenilworth back to being dog slow.

I really thought CellC had sorted Kenilworth out after I complained last time but a week later and it is worse than it has ever been. I'm lucky if I'm getting 50kbs spiked with average speeds between 1kbs and 10kbs tonight. Looks like CellC is a dud. I'm actually posting this on my MTN cellphone. I'm really disappointed because when I first got it I was raving about how great it was all over MyBB. Now, especially at peak times it is unusable.

My SpeedTest won't even load the network is so slow. Thank God for MTN. Trevor, feel free to use *that* as a quote in your advertising.

Take your existing service provider's worst day, and multiply by 1000000. That is Cell C at best at the moment.

AVOID CELL C AT ALL COST!!!!

I'm back to using Vodacom.

I'd just love to know what they do when they "fix" it. There is an improvement for a few days then things go downhill. Would be nice to know what is happening at least and how they plan on resolving issues over the long run. Communication is the key to keeping your customers happy.

Seems the 3G network in Newlands, Cape Town has disappeared.

A network scan returns 2G and 3G for Voda, Mtn and Telkom. But just 2G for CellC. Have tried with 2 different dongles on 2 different machines, so I don't think it's just me.

Anyone else having this prob?
