Sign up with GoogleI have a laptop and a desktop with a Netgear router. I can connect to the router wireleslly and have internet access. When I connect the desktop and laptop to the router through a network cable it doesn't connect to the internet. Any advice for the network noob?

Network problem

I managed to get the laptop working over a wired connection. Which says the cable is good. The desktop PC which is still running off XP is suspect. I manually changed the IP addy etc and it still is a problem. The connecting is sending packets but not receiving.
