Good day All

Excuse me if this question has been answered before.

Not being a network expert or anything.

Could somebody please explain to me what speeds i should get on the above mentioned connections and where on the internet i should be able to test it relaibly.

IE 3G > XXX.XXX kb/s or KB/s
HSDPA > XXX.XXX kb/s or KB/s

Oh and the best part, where on my laptop/desktop do i check the connection speed when i'm connected to my 3G/HSDPA card.

3G - max 384Kb/s downlink / 64Kb/s uplink - practically you should get close to this.
HSDPA - max 1800Kb/s downlink / 384Kb/s uplink - practically closer to 1Mb/s downlink.

Load DUmeter or Netmonitor to check speeds.

Hi,
measured actual up- and download via www.tcpiq.com I am getting not more than 440 kb/s on HSDPA in Plettenberg Bay.
Actually anything between NOTHING an 440 kb/s

I was for two months in Germany with HSDPA from T-Mobile and measured
between 220 and above 840 kb/s (two thirds up to 600 kb/s, one third above towards 840 kb/s)
Two months with not one second downtime on a 5GB per month "fair deal" contract. Now I am sitting at The Crags with no Internet via GPRS and the same low speed as mentioned above in Plettenberg Bay on HSDPA.

Other question:
When do we get a better Software for the data card.
It displays at the moment wrong connection speeds.
The T-Mobile card had two rapid red flashes for GPRS, four rapid red flashes for EDGE, two rapid blue flashes for 3G and four rapid blue flashes for HSDPA.
What a pleasure to work with and see were you are .....................

Possible, but not probable .............
