hey guys...
have a quick question for you. My setup is as follows:
1x DLink DSL-2604 Router
1x DLink 8 port Gigabit swtich
1x Dlink DIR-600 WiFi Router (Running in AP mode)
Now, the issue I am having is as follows: I keep most of my media on my desktop (connected to the switch with a cable - Win 7 Ultimate X86) and access the files off my laptop (Sony VAIO VGN-TX37GP - Win XP Pro x86) connected via WiFi. I usually connect to the ADSL router as it is closer to my bedroom and gives better signal. Once in a while, the laptop stops being able to ping any of the other IP's on the network while connected to the ADSL router, but switching over to the DLink AP and I can connect away. While there is no connectivity to the other computers on the network, I can freely browse the internet etc.
The last time this happened, the problem went away after a day or 2 without me doing anything.
The 2 access points are connected via ethernet cable. The ADSL router performs DHCP functions, and assigns the laptop the same IP irrespective of which AP I connect to.
Any ideas on what this issue could be? I would really love to understand how this could be happening...
TIA
