Neuralink implants have not killed any monkeys — Musk

Elon Musk has reasserted his statement that his brain implant startup Neuralink Corp. had never caused the death of a monkey, which while may be technically true, skirts around the fact that at least a dozen monkeys died after receiving chip implants.

At the New York Times Dealbook conference on Wednesday, Musk repeated a claim he made earlier this year on X, the social media site he owns, that Neuralink used monkeys that were already close to death for its early experiments.

Why do the rich and powerful tend to say condescending things about their lab workers?

It reminds me of what Les Grossman said to an employee's face: "A nutless monkey could do your job."

It's as sad to see as it is hilarious.

Fun fact: lab workers are not called monkeys. That’s developers.

Devs: code monkeys
Lab scientists: labrats

Haters will not believe that. Lol

And technically AIDS hasn't killed anyone either.

I obviously don't know enough to really say one way or another, but being technically correct can sometimes hide the truth behind the truth.

The fact that he chose terminal monkeys at least shows that they weren't trying to only look good. They knew it would look bad and were willing to take the scrutiny. Well done for that.

Should do the testing on the cANCer comrades here...

I think his Neuralink had a short-circuit.
