I've never been this pissed, at least not toward a cellular network. Today I decided to recharge my VM sim, so I bought a R50 recharge voucher at Musica gateway so that I may recharge whey I get home.

Now here is some Jerry Springer s***t whey I dial *102*Recharge PIN# I get this error message "if recharging is giving problems call 123 and we will sort it out". Then I call 123 for assistance nobody has an answer to my problem they kept asking for a PIN & Voucher Ref. No. after 45 Min. on the phone I decided to e-mail them my Recharge Slip hoping it might hasten the solution but it never did. After calling them 7 times they then told me to call 2moro because some guy dealing with such problems has gone home.

I've had issues with MTN before but I never been through such, just to recharge I've made up my mind I switching back to MTN they should take their 50c/MB and stuff them but first things first I need my money back I am through with these amateurs.

there's also too much down-time on the VM network.
They were down just now for about 45 min.

Also, you can hardly find the airtime anywhere. I was in Stanger last weekend and could find airtime within 60km.

TRied to purchase with Credit Card but when i called they said their systems were down and they will call me every hour telling me the progress. Havent received a call yet.

I am now deciding - should i go back to MTN - much more reliable, stable and
airtime is easily available????

Hype and nothing else

Last night I contacted VM to find out where I can get a prepaid card - told them I am in central Pretoria - she asks if I am close to Menlyn, I say NO, central PTA - so they read dealers off and when they get to Woollies I say STOP - I 'll go there. So I go there today and Woollies tell me that their systems are not online yet and I cannot get a pre-paid card (oh,yes and they have'nt got any cellphones either) - So I says to the salesman "so they basically useless" and he replies "YES"

So much for the advertising hype - make sure you can supply before you try do the marketing thing!!!!!
Ahhh what the hell!! - I stick with the devil you know!!! bugger VM and their 50c/meg.

The grass always looks greener on the other side. Lots of promises and fancy ad campaigns but very little delivery. The story of the telecoms industry. Jumping from one to the other is like hunting for a clean toilet in shopping mall.

Just recieved my R50 airtime credit, but that was after i demanded to speak to the manager.

I got my VM sim the same week it was launched. Use it for internet browsing on my Jasjar. Don't have any problems with them. They had downtime yes, but when that happens then I just pop my Vodacom or MTN sim in.

When I need airtime I just log on to internet banking or go to whoolies.

I'm happy with the service I get from VM. Spoke to the guys at the DataSupport and they know what they are talking about. Not that you can say that from all the people at Vodacom and MTN. Only people that knows what is going on is MTN Data Dude and Vodacom3g.

Piesang: Somehow you are right judging from other threads on this forum and my experience none of these networks are perfect but on the other hand VM so far has a fraction of subscribers recharge voucher problem shouldn’t take a two days to resolve.

Have you ever considered the fact that the problem might be at the place you want to buy your airtime from and not VM?

If they had problems with prepaid airtime it should be in the whole country, not only one or two stores.

I was at two different Whoolworths strores, one in Goodwood, N1 City and the other in Kraaifontein, Cape Gate. They both had airtime but the Musica didn't have.

The availability of airtime is not an issue here, I bought a voucher but It does not recharge when I called them they told me the voucher is valid but it has 12 digit instead of 13 digit so whose fault is that, I understand they are new in the business and things like this are bound to surface but I'd expect a quicker response instead of two days.

On the printed slip you get for your airtime, there are two long numbers.

The one says Serial number and has got 12 digits
The other one says Pin Number and has got 13 digits.

Didn't you by accident use the Serial number instead of the Pin number?

OK, so decided today to try and get one again - went to Musica at Kollenade and NOW THEY WANT MY ID BOOK. and no a driver's license is not good enough.
Argh PFFFT k$k with VM.

due to the new law (rica) i think
and legally your drivers license is a not form of identification, it's a license only

The problem is not with VM, it's the people working there. I got my SIM from Musica in Tyger Valley, Bellville. The lady there asked for my ID or Drivers License. Filled in a form with my detail and got my SIM.

I think the problem is with the people your dealing with.

Yah anyway, I also bought a Memory Card for my N70 and (did not check at the shop) when i got home I saw the lady put a Mini SD card in the package so I had to go back to change it for a MMS Mobile card (luckly the owner gave it to me at the same price as it was R80 more expensive) and of course I took the ID with and got the Virgin card - came home and set it all up and everything works fine.... Internet via laptop, MMS, and all.:D So I am happy again..... now just to get a recharge voucher somewhere as Std bank have not got them listed yet (damn)
