New 5000+ CPU incoming

My one supplier has the
Athlon64 x2 dual core 5000+ (2600mhz) , socket 939, dual core - 2 x 128k L1 + 2 x 1mb L2 ; 2000mhz fsb hypertransport
listed as coming soon.

While I would think the cache (maybe a cop /paste error?) would make it a 5200+, it does sound yummy.

Yep it will! I dont think I will buy top of the line again. Much better bang for your buck slightly down from there. I can see the 4400+ becoming even better value for money and with a little effort it will run at 2.6 with no problems. Had mine stable with the stock cooler at 2.6 and 3d marked it up to 2.5ghz. But its fast enough so will get better cooling later and unleash the beast :D
 
I've got a 4400+ X2 at the moment...I'm actually waiting for the price to come down on the FX60...I'm after that puppy :)

I have had them instock for about a week and a half:D
 
It's 512KB L2 and not 1MB.
PR Rating Single Core: 200MHz = 300PR (save for Athlon64 3000+ 939)
512KB vs 1MB = 200PR always (Dual and Single core)
PR Rating Dual Core: 200MHz = 400PR
i.e A64 X2 5000 = 2.6Ghz 512Kb L2
A64 5200 would be 2.6GHz 1MB L2

X2 are really expensive, 4200 and 3800+ are sill bang for buck. But 4800 really packs a massive punch!

I highly doubt that, AMD says release will be in June to co inside with the windsor M2 5200+ and FX-62 parts.

But indeed if you do have, take a pic of the second line and third line of the cpu core so we can see the stepping/core... You can cover the part that says ADA5000 etc... (first line)
 
maybe he means his suppliers, like what he meant about the 7900's

speak to S E T H I mentioned to him when they arrived and tomorrow i'l be shipping them for him to review.
