New AMD price and upgrade ...

Hi Guys

You would most probably have seen the other thread about the AMD price drop ... I in a fix ... I cannot seem to make up my mind ...

I am thinking about going for a Athlon 64 3800+, 6600GT g/card and a SLI enabled motherboard. Oh yes and 250GB HDD.

I already have 2x 512MB and 2x 256MB of Ram, 500 W PSU and the usual optical drives and speakers.

Please point me in the right direction wrt the motherboard (best value at a decent price).

Also, should I rather go for a 7600GS ... I have my reservations about it cos it has a huge heatsink ... no fan ... overheating??

Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.... I would like to have this system ready asap..... (like by this weekend .. to enjoy FEAR)

I'd get this MB although if you want more features, the Premium version would be better.

In terms of the G-card, I'd go with the 7600GT - it's the same performance as the 6800GT and the 6600GT is getting a long a bit.

Go for the Asus A8N E - its going for around R850 atm and has good performance
