Phoned iBurst just now, when I couldn't logon. They told me they were rebooting the network, because they've erected new base stations anyone know where they are? :D

Last I spoke to Sasan, he said they were erecting one in Epsom Downs. Have no idea if it the one they were talking about.

It would be nice if they could inform us before they decide to reboot the network. How difficult is it for them to keep their clients updated as to work being done to the system.

Edited to add: New towers my @ss: off the "problem Site":

27/01/06 Network Outage 27/01/06 Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban iBurst subscribers CRITICAL RESOLVED
Details Failure of core network equipment leading to severe network degradation. Network outage of 15 minutes is necessary to reset fault.

Wow, I just love being lied to. (I both love and hate iBurst, but I cannot consider the alternative. Yes, I do realise there's Sentech, but let's not go there.)

Oh well, at least my connection is working again.

Here I was hoping I might get a more stable latency in my area.

Have you got an address or building name, please. There is nothing on the maps yet.

I think it is where Hans Strydom cross the mountain at Wapadrand. My source at WBS told me they installed it on Thursday/Friday and will test it over the weekend.

It is. Apparently they need to install the BS to reach the lower lying areas that at present cannot get decent signal.

OK, I'm still confused about where this new Bryanston tower would be. Is it near Strijdom Park by any chance?

BS= Base Station (or should that be Bull ****).

Again no time frame was given, but then this is the norm with WBS.

The Traveller - the new tower is apparently to be erected at the Epsom Downs Shopping Centre on William Nicol Drive.
